Demo Time Again - 20th September 2014

If you like the style of my cards why don't you join me and the lovely ladies at Craftique for a wonderful day of IndigoBlu inspiration. I will be demonstrating the gorgeous new Christmas stamp range, the metallic paints (which are to die for.....esp Cinderella), the opulence of Mega Flakes, as well as stamping on tissue techniques. So much to fit in between 10am and 4pm.

This is the start of my stamping on tissue mannequin, using one of the the Christmas Dinkie stamps in a way that can be displayed all year. I've a few ideas to add to her on Saturday......watch this space.

I also thought I would share these two cards with you, using exactly the same stamps (Connors Crown Jewels) to create two very different finished cards.

I will have lots of samples to share with you and lots of techniques to inspire. I hope you are able to pop along and say hello. I would love to meet you all.

See you Saturday Xxx

PS - there might be cakes....

Sewing mends the soul.......

I wasn't quite sure what to put together in a tag............ sew this is my second tag of the day (how bad are the puns?!)

I definitely need to improve my photography skills!! (and my jokes)

Tag You're It Challenge

Thank you for stopping by, It's lovely to see you all.

So what have I been up to since my last blog......well I've completed my first demo on behalf of IndigoBlu and I thoroughly enjoyed the day being back in front of fellow crafters. I hope everyone who attended also enjoyed themselves and went home with plenty of hints and tips, I know I did!

I've also been making a few things which I will be sharing with you over the next couple of days. The first is a tag which I'm entering into Polkadoodles Challenge - Tag You're It.

I hope you like it. I've used the Nottingham Lace stamp set by IndigoBlu, as well as a few goodies from my ribbon stash.

Some of you who kindly followed me in the past might like to know that I've changed the login name from alisonscurrah.blogspot.co.uk to craftygirlfriday.blogspot.co.uk so if you would like to keep following me you might have to like me all over again - many apologises Xxx

I've been away too long!

So what have a been doing over the last week or so since I last blogged? Well the normal mundane things, going to work, a few chores here and there, you know how it is. But I've also been doing some more exciting things as well. Making samples for a couple of demos I have coming up (see a few teasers below).

Yesterday I went to the IndigoBlu Open Day at HQ in Retford   http://www.indigoblu.com/ I would highly recommend you go to the next one. I came away with so much inspiration and I hope to be putting it to good use in the very near future.

I've also been a tad naughty and cast on another knitting project! (I might share it with you when the pattern starts to show up) You see I don't just make cards I sew and knit and repair antique jewellery and......and.....and......anything that takes my fancy.

I hope you've been having a wonderfully crafty time to. Thanks for stopping by. Xxx

Christmas in July (2nd entry.....how rash!)

I got a little parcel in the post from Indigo Blu earlier in the week......... so I thought I would sneak in a second entry to the Christmas in July Challenge. (I don't know if it's allowed!)

And whilst I was sat on the living room floor, trying to be creative, I kept getting a little help (Not!)

The sun is shining here, have a great day wherever you are and whatever you are doing. I'm going to have a go at making a cube for the Hip to be Square challenge at Frilly and Funkie (watch this space)

The wonders of my day job

Yesterday at work a little girl came in with her parents, she was a real chatterbox and was so excited about her visit as she knew where the Fairies lived and if you caught one and then let it go it would make your wish come true. I asked her to make a wish for me if she found the fairies. I thought nothing more about this until at the end of the day this little girl came looking for me and in her hand was a dandelion clock.

She had brought me a fairy so I could make my own wish! How lovely was that? We both went outside and let the fairy go and I got to make my wish.

It's the little things that make this world special and make up for all the bad days. I hope this little girls grows up to be a truly wonderful human being......she is certainly well on her way xx

Coffee and Cream

Good evening one and all. I hope you are keeping well?

I've not had a chance to do any crafting over the last couple of days so I thought I would share a birthday card I made for a special friend. As you will see coffee and cream purely refers to the colours used and for those of you who are interested the flowers come ready made and have been taken from a length a ribbon (yes ribbon!) which I fell in love with at my local soft furnishings store.

Christmas in July

This is my entry for the Indigo Blu Christmas in July Challenge. A card and gift all in one!

The angel in the middle is a wooden blank I found and thought it would look lovely decorated in Mega Flake.

I hope you all like it. xx

Himalayan Poppies

Today has seen me back at work (don't you find working for a living a draw back to crafting!). So here is a card I finished a couple of days ago. This was inspired by a lovely lady at a Indigo Blu day I recently attended, as like most people I would have painted my poppies red.

Instead of making cards this evening I have been restringing and knotting a beautiful antique amber necklace for a lady. Just a little sideline I have with my friendly antique shop! Reasonable prices charged if anyone needs anything doing.....ha ha!

I hope you enjoy this offering.

Anything Goes

This is my entry for the Uniko Studio Challenge this month. I love Bev's stamp designs, I hope she likes this as well xx

Playing hooky!

Today was meant to be filled with chores......but you know how it is.......a flicker of an idea comes into your head and if you are anything like me you are very easily distracted!

So I took a little pile of goodies, plus card and ink and came up with this........

It is slightly difficult to tell from the picture but I have added a few of the dandelion heads in Winter Dawn Mega Flake.

Oh and you may be able to spot my little helper in the background!

Crafter's Companion

I thought I should introduce you to my help and my hindrance in all aspects of my day to day life. This little fella (not so little really) is Gizzy Wiz. He was being bullied by the other cat he lived with and was far from happy, so he came to live with me about a year ago and has flourished ever since. In fact he is the most loving and affectionate cat you could hope to have. It was the best thing for both of us his moving in!

As the rain poors down........

How typical is that, my day off and the heavens open. But you have to look on the bright side, what better excuse could a girl have to craft?

I bought this young lady on a recent visit to The Paperlane, definitely an impulse buy, but isn't she just gorgeous. I've created the background card using IndigoBlu English Cottage Artisits Acrylic Paints in Banana Custard, Burning Bonfire and Postbox Red. The lace effect on her skirt is achieved with a boarder stamp from Nottingham Lace also from IndigoBlu.

I hope you like her. xx

Lets see if this works......

Welcome one and all to my new blog page. Technology has had me stumped slightly so I don't know what you will see and let me assure you this page is far from complete, in fact it is a very definite 'work in progress'

I thought I would share a card I made with you, fingers crossed that it does appear!

Well that worked well, so I'm not going to stretch my luck to far, but I would be grateful if someone could let me know this post is 'live'
